My Top 15 Self-Care Ideas

We all have those days when we feel like we are going to completely lose it. Self- care is just what we need to stay afloat in our busy lives. Check out my post on why self-care is so important here. Often times when we actually get a minute to ourselves we have no idea what to do with the time that we have. We draw a blank. So I created this list of things to do to make things easier for you. One thing that I absolutely love about this list is that you can choose to spend money or do things that don’t cost you a thing. Regardless, you will still get the time you need to yourself to feel refreshed. Here are some things to get you started:

  1. Go to the bookstore for a new book, borrow one from the library, or read one that you already have at home.
  2. Learn something new! Get a Groupon for a class you are interested in or find something on Youtube or Pinterest.
  3. Paint your nails or go to the salon to get a mani-pedi.
  4. Listen to your favorite songs.
  5. Order food from your favorite restaurant or make a quick meal/dessert to indulge in alone.
  6. Take a long bath.
  7. Go to the spa.
  8. Buy yourself something nice.
  9. Go and see a movie.
  10. Binge watch a new show.
  11. Make a plan to make your mornings run smoother (check out my blog post on this here).
  12. Go to bed early.
  13. Walk around Target alone and get a drink from Starbucks while you’re there.
  14. Get up early to pray, praise, and have coffee.
  15. Exercise.

    I have several little vacation times throughout the year. I love it when Lily’s daycare is still open because that’s when I have myself a spa day. With the kind of workouts I do, I have to get in a massage or a spa day because my body can only handle so much. Then I sleep early (if Lily allows me). My other favorite things to do, is to indulge in my favorite desserts while watching a movie. It sounds so simple, but I can’t really enjoy it while Lily is around because she always wants what I have, even if she has her own.

    At least I get some “me” time, I am definitely very grateful for the few days I get in the year.~
